Lost Hemisphere Charity Model: Steamin’ Sally
Lost Hemisphere fans likely already know about Faultie’s project for this year’s charity, but in case you don’t, check this out:
Faultie’s always been a fan of the Rhulic nation, and this year, he wanted to do a WWII bomber inspired Earthbreaker! So, he commissioned some “nose art” for the project, and off he went! What’s even cooler than having some concept art to go with a model? Putting that art on the model! Faultie made it into a decal, and it’s on the Earthbreaker! If you like the art, you can purchase all sorts of Steamin’ Sally merchandise, which will help support the charity!
Faultie’s vision called for a customized Earthbreaker, and loads of converting has gone into this thing. You can read about his project log here and here.
My contributions to the project were minor compared to what Faultie’s done, but I’m pleased I had a chance to assist with such a cool piece. I took Faultie on a supply run (and found a few goodies myself), painted the faces of the crew, and painted the explosion on the base.
Here’s a few pictures of the base being painted, after I finished the explosion and handed it off for final assembly and glamour shots:
And here’s some shots with the Steamin’ Sally in action! Check out the nose art, under his arm!
Lastly, here’s a video!
I can’t wait to check out the finished piece in person at Templecon 2015! If you want a chance to win this thing, buy lots of Lost Hemisphere raffle tickets. If you can’t make it to Templecon, see if a friend will buy tickets for you!
