SR2014 Tournament Army Pics
Over the weekend I attended a local tournament as a participant (for once). The event had roughly 30 people, and spilt into two tiers once the first round was over. Both tiers had $$ prizes, but the top tier also had coins. Additionally, there was a Best Painted Army award. I ended up going 1-3, but winning games wasn’t my goal for the event.
After round two, we were told to set up our best painted of our two lists, for judging. Obligingly, I set up the list I had taken to Templecon, and that I had been working on all last week (thus why I don’t have any paint on the Behemoth. That, and his ankles broke, which is discouraging).
In the past week, I…
- 2-brush blended the shades and highlights in the WGI grunts and rocketeers & Joe
- Added snow to the bases
- Added arc markings
Here’s the army:
And here are a few close-ups:
The TO and his assistant carefully judged all the armies, and I was chosen for Best Painted. Yay!
Coming in at second was local Mike H. Here’s some of his lovely red Cryx below, and you can read about his games, here.
I did not take many notes on my games, I had a headache and I didn’t want to try and remember details on four games. Maybe next time. Instead, here are some shots of my army in action, followed by a bunch of random pictures of other painted armies that were at the event.
A lot of good looking armies. Thanks for taking pics, your Khador looks great!
Thanks, Carl. It was great seeing you at the event – stop by on a Wednesday? Let’s play a game!
Good to see you come by – lots of fun nerding about blending that is just airbrush smooth (So jealous!!)
Come out and play with us more often! We’re trying to send thralls down your way more!
I love nerding out about painting, that was great.
I have a feeling the Nomads will be back again, and you guys are more than welcome at our events!
Great pics all around!
Wow, your camera takes some awesome pics. Congrats again on the win! Those Khador look amazing.
